Where to begin?

The most ripe and healthy avocado should be chosen so that the seed is as ripe as possible. We'll have to try and find a suitable fruit, dark and firm but not blackened. When pressed lightly, a fossa appears, which quickly normalizes to its original appearance. It is very important not to cut the shell of the bone when removing it. To do this, carefully cut the avocado in a circle without touching the seed and roll the pulp in opposite directions. Take a tablespoon and very carefully remove the bone. Then wash it and let it dry well to prepare it for planting.

Landing rules

There are two possible landing options, choose which one seems more interesting to you.

Preparing for any option

You will need to prepare a pot with a diameter of 20-25 cm, at the bottom of which there will be a drainage hole, drainage and quality soil. It is favorable if the composition contains lime, peat, humus and coarse sand. Drainage should be placed on the bottom with a thickness of about 2-3 cm (take smaller ones), then fill in the earth so that it remains loosened, do not compact it when pouring.

- First way:

The bone must be planted with a blunt end in the ground so that 2-3 cm remains on the surface. Watering must be vigilant not allowing the soil to become dry. If everything is done correctly, two or three weeks and the first shoots will delight you. This option is especially suitable for beginners.

- Second way:

A little more painstaking, but the chances that the seed will sprout are much higher. Moreover, it will be possible to observe it more openly. You will need a glass of water, an awl, and toothpicks. Roughly divide the bone in half and make four holes along the equator, insert toothpicks there from the very edge without piercing the core. Now the toothpicks serve as a support, put the finished structure on a glass with a blunt edge down, so that 1/3 is in the water. Make sure that the water level remains at one border. When the roots reach 3 cm in length, you can transplant the future tree into the ground.

Subtleties of care

As for watering, you need to make sure that the kidney remains simply moist. Spraying is the best option. The foliage is very fond of it.

If possible, choose a western window for growing avocados. It prefers diffused light but rather bright. It is advisable to avoid direct sunlight on the foliage to avoid burns. During winter, you can additionally illuminate with artificial bright light.

After 3-6 months after planting in the ground, it is advisable to start feeding the tree. Fertilize it about once a month from May to September. There is a special feed for these plants on sale.

The ideal temperature in summer is 22-28 degrees, but in winter 18-20. Avoid hypothermia as the tree will shed its foliage.
