Where are dried flowers used?
A bouquet of dried flowers, such as statice, will perfectly decorate your home. These bright flowers retain their color throughout the winter even when dry and will stylishly complement your interior in a tall glass vase. There are medicinal flowers that should be collected in certain areas further from the road of course. There are also dried flowers that are used by designers; for this, the dried flower must remain dense and not change shape.
If you love handicrafts, try to create a picture from dried flowers and branches, or you can add wheat grains, for example, in small details or dried apple chips, which will add fabulousness to the panel. Previously, it was believed that such creations in the house are created for the well-being and prosperity in the family.
A simple way to dry
Fans of floristry or needlewomen would happily try to create such a miracle. There are many ways, we will cover the main ones.
-Drying for flowers in the form of a book. Carefully lay the leaves and flowers between the sheets of paper and it is advisable to put a stack of books or some kind of weight on top.
- If you don't need to keep the shape of the flower, there is a microwave drying method. But some plants tend to curl up.
-It is also possible to quickly dry the leaves with an iron. Place a leaf or flower between the sheets of paper and dry on medium heat on top of the paper. Take note also that the color can change dramatically during this drying.
- But if you are drying flowers for a vase, you will need to hang each branch upside down in a ventilated warm room or outdoors in summer.
Dried flowers for bouquets and compositions
Very often, the method of drying in the sand is used to preserve the shape and color of the flower for the bouquet. To do this, you need a box and pre-prepared sand. It should be sifted and heated in the oven to remove moisture. Flowers also need to be prepared. First of all, they should be fresh, so the dried flowers will turn out to be more beautiful. Secondly, the flower must be dry so that mold does not develop in it.
Pour sand about 10 cm at the bottom of the box, then lay the flowers after removing the leaves. The petals must be carefully laid and smoothed, cover with sand on top so that the inflorescence is covered by about 5-10 cm.Leave it in a warm (but not hot) ventilated room for two weeks.
